I was very impressed by the post made by the w...Hi,
I was very impressed by the post made by the writer of the article. When I read something, my mind always spins off with a reaction of what it stirs in my heart, and mind

"Wait on the Lord"! Here the operative word is that we can be "waiting on the Lord". Not in the sense of time, but in the sense of being what paul describes as a 'Doulos. ("A slave") But for Paul, he was a "Bond Slave", meaning that he was serving as a slave of his own choice. How often do we see ourselves in *that* light? We are "bond slaves" of Jesus Christ? Paul states "I live, but not I live, but Christ lives in me". He is no longer a free man, but a man who is so dedicated to Christ, that he himself, as he was, was no longer himself. Think, for a moment, about a slave back in Paul's times. He attended his master, and tried to anticipate each and every thing his master might want. But, Paul was "waiting on the Lord", and having been a waiter in a high class restaurant, I know what it is to wait on someone. You stop as you go by. "Is everything o.k.?" "Would you like some fresh coffee?" "Is there anything else I can do for you?" If you've ever been in a 4-5 star restaurant, you have the experience of the sommelier, suggesting a particularly good wine, and pouring a glass for you to approve of it's bouquet, and then to sip to see if it is to dry, or too sweet to suit your taste. The entire staff is dedicated to seeing that you are happy with the service, (you wait on them hand and foot).
How often do we put ourselves in service to Christ this way. asking regularly, all the time, to see if there is some other way that you can please Him.

Lastly, (phew! <g>) Our Lord in one of his moments, "threw us a curveball. Yes, we *are* to be patient, and wait ... BUT ..
suddenly we are told about the "importunate widow, and the unjust judge". She pestered him, and pestered him, until finally he gave her what she wanted.

We of the 21st century, know nothing about "prevailing prayer".
We wish to pray once, and "that should be it". God is very often gracious, and grants our wish, but in another comment by our Lord, he admonishes his disciples "This kind only comes out by prayer and fasting". A previous generation spoke of "knocking on the Gates of Heaven.

Charles Finney, was an incredible evangelist, who had whold cities becoming saved. Stores shut down, to hear him preach. The City Council, and Mayors, rescheduled meetings so that they could hear him preach. But, and this is a true story, he had a prayer team, 9-10 men, who were literally on their faces in a rented room, and didn't even come out for food. The owner of the institution, became worried, because they had not come out to eat, and, even more, when she passed by the room, she heard strange noises. Finally she opened the door and peeked in. The men were on their faces on the floor, and literally groaning in prayer.

God Bless
BarryBarrynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-1410116589185041922009-03-23T02:06:00.001-07:002009-03-23T02:06:00.001-07:00Many people have commented over the years on how p...Many people have commented over the years on how patient I am... actually they're wrong! Usually I'm being either (a) two-faced 'cos I'm seething with impatience inside, or (b) they're mistaking passivity for patience! But what a difference between the two!
It's like if a mountain climber was trapped on a ledge in fog, and his rescuers lowered a rope to him - he could either lie there and wait for them to climb down and tie it round him, or lower a stretcher, or he could talk to them, follow their instructions, tie the rope to his harness and wait for the order to start climbing up to them.
That verse from Hebrews, "Let us LABOUR therefore to enter into that REST..." It sounds wrong, doesn't it? Labouring to rest? Humanly speaking it doesn't make sense, so thank God we don't belong to the human kingdom, but His! I'm off to labour hard at resting.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-41664547026789417142009-03-20T12:30:00.001-07:002009-03-20T12:30:00.001-07:00dearly beloved, i have found that this teaching i...dearly beloved, i have found that this teaching is true and accurate to the heart good job bobbyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-5497536743734974442009-03-12T23:08:00.000-07:002009-03-12T23:08:00.000-07:00While I am waiting and enduring, I can't have hope...While I am waiting and enduring, I can't have hope without patience, or vice versa. Finally Isaac was born and Abraham's patience was tested yet again when the Lord commanded him to lay his son at the altar. Abraham had every reason to lose hope and patience but the bible says in Hebrews 6:15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. He patiently endured, then God was prompted to make an oath!!
When we swear and oath, we swear on something higher or greater than ourselves. We swear on the Bible, we sign contracts to be upheld by the law, we swear by God. When God made a promise to Abraham, there was no one greater, so he swore an oath on himself.
He promises us so that we are clear of His purpose since He can not lie and to encourage those who struggle to grasp onto hope. Hebrews 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
We can find security in His promises!! We have something greater to hope in while enduring patiently!!Chastityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09456659134940444134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-43395933090536924912009-03-07T00:27:00.000-07:002009-03-07T00:27:00.000-07:00Like so many have said, I too had never recognized...Like so many have said, I too had never recognized the presence of hope and patience in the waiting process. It makes so much sense though! In worship, we wait on God with anticipation and an expectation for His presence and anointing. Hope is defined as this: to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence. We are hoping that God would fill that service with His presence and so we wait on Him to bring that to pass. Patience is this: an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. When waiting on God, we must look forward with confidnece and suppress our restlessness regarding God's timing, which is always perfect!Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15951854888707061233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-43667979791227513362009-03-06T16:51:00.000-07:002009-03-06T16:51:00.000-07:00I also enjoy the preface to James 1:4, verses 2-3 ...I also enjoy the preface to James 1:4, verses 2-3 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." We receive this patience by being joyful in the times of trial. Notice the use of various, the KJV says divers. Our trials can be financial, they can be spiritual, they come in various shapes and forms. They have various forms but there is one solution, to count it a joy. To realize that we are being tested for a specific purpose and that God wants us to overcome. Therefore be joyful!Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00988667016071748186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-67463462354324720642009-03-06T12:14:00.000-07:002009-03-06T12:14:00.000-07:00I was struck by the emphasis on the fruit of the S...I was struck by the emphasis on the fruit of the Spirit, long-suffering and the journey - which could be likened to a process. We are put through a refining fire - it is a journey we walk through -- sometimes a laborious one.

Bobby 3 said above " hile we are in the waiting process, will we be restless or patient. This is a very important thing while waiting for your miracle because it will only come on God's timing. At times we want it to come now. We must have patience, or we will be murmuring and complaining."

During this refining journey, where we are in the refining fire, we may find ourselves sometimes, instead of remembering the hope in the Lord, choosing instead to murmur or complain. It is the human in us. I think we should all remember his grace and that we can continue onward on this journey. Sometimes it is a long one and it may have a few hiccups, but He is faithful to bring us to completion and perfection in Him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-46732632406645563962009-03-06T09:52:00.000-07:002009-03-06T09:52:00.000-07:00I love how "hope" is a definition of waiting. The concept of waiting is to give us hope for a future, and an expected end. It's ironic how our thinking can be twisted, especially because we live in an "instant gratification" generation. But the biggest rewards and promises come with waiting, and if we, as Christians, choose to do so, we will find fufillment that surpasses what we could've ever thought or asked for.

I've struggled with waiting for things in the past, but I've found that it is in the "waiting and resting" period that I've learned to seek God and draw nigh unto Him.. and in the meantime, I've developed the fruits of patience and longsuffering.

Good Word.. Something I need to hear over and over again..Kaylahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07404812097275874668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-38291601676799528132009-03-06T01:19:00.000-07:002009-03-06T01:19:00.000-07:00Longsuffering2. To bear pain or adversity without ...Longsuffering
2. To bear pain or adversity without murmuring, depression, or without loss of hope

I liken longsuffering to a woman being pregnant. Why you say? Well she goes to the doctor and he says she pregnant. God says this is my promise to you (fill in the blank). Then as the days and weeks go by her stomach starts to get bigger. And can you imagine before they had ultrasound. Who’s to say the woman wasn't just getting fat because she ate too much. I've the mistake before of telling someone they're pregnant when they weren't. You have to faith that you are having a baby.

Now she feels sick in the morning and needs to throw up. She doesn’t understand why certain smells or objects make her queasy. Of course she can complain because her feet are swollen, she needs bigger clothes, and on and on the list goes. But remember emotional distress cause the baby damage. Is your emotional distress or shall we say lack of faith and your complaining about this long period of waiting hurting your miracle?

Ok so she feels something moving and it's probably just too much gas. She should have layed off the baklava. LOL Now 9 months has gone by and a human being is suppose to come out. Yeah right!! You can’t have any loss of hope you have to continue to believe that this baby is going to come out eventually. You must have longsuffering and can’t lose any ounce of hope.

Well, guess what a new life does come out and many say that watching a new born come into this life is a MIRACLE and they feel God when it happens.

Right now is about waiting, patience, and hoping to see that beautiful little life staring back at you. You will see that miracle just suffer a little bit longer and don’t forget no complaining.tmk84https://www.blogger.com/profile/00131667879090319555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-41720661158327831912009-03-05T21:36:00.000-07:002009-03-05T21:36:00.000-07:00Amazing, waiting IS key. Wait + Patience + Hope = Victory...This is the key!!

Wait + Patience + Hope = Victory!!! This is the formula to getting the strength and power to make it to the finish line, to the promise. Many Christians fall for the lie that God is withholding blessings from them, that somehow they are not favored by God. It is not that God does not come through for us at all. He has already layed out the promise. It is that we do not make it to the end because we miss one or more of these key elements. I pray that the people of God would get this and walk in the inheritance that is already layed out before them.Kathy Alcantarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00289374775008017506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-59205568729819673282009-03-05T18:04:00.000-07:002009-03-05T18:04:00.000-07:00A potter when he has completed his work will set t...A potter when he has completed his work will set the piece of work on the self to dry, waiting, until it completely dries.
