Of course it is wise to think of the future, however it has become normal and even a positive attribute to begin relying on yourself for these provisions and precautions. It has become normal that when you only have enough for the now, that means it's not enough, hence the phrase "we're living paycheck to paycheck." It can be very discouraging when you are not "ahead" in life.

It is vital that we learn to feed on Him and delight in Him for our daily provision, being content, wanting and needing nothing more. This is the true preparation and precaution for the future. It is when we reach this point that we are ready for riches - without sorrow.

I will rejoice in the day that the Lord has made. I will live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment with my children. I thank God for the miracle of today's provision!Chastityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09456659134940444134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-55840821221929864262009-03-06T23:08:00.000-07:002009-03-06T23:08:00.000-07:00"Or do you fail to recognize what a blessing it is..."Or do you fail to recognize what a blessing it is and call it lack or not enough simply because it is not enough for tomorrow but it is plenty for today." This statement convicted me so much! So often, we look at the current circumstance with frustration instead of realizing the blessing. I've recently got into the habit of waking up and thanking God for another day to praise Him. As much I've heard this, it took a while to do it myself. This just reinforces the importance of not taking for granted the simple blessings upon our lives each day.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15951854888707061233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-31274347711353538592009-03-06T13:38:00.000-07:002009-03-06T13:38:00.000-07:00Joshua is such a good example. In my own life, I have reached places where I was dissatisfied with where I was and I grew impatient, feeling like I had been passed over. This is not a place where we should be. Jesus waited 30 years to begin his ministry, which lasted about three years. He found contentment in the times of waiting and thus became the world-changing force He was.Adamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00988667016071748186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-86407127489668258262009-03-04T17:46:00.000-07:002009-03-04T17:46:00.000-07:00Wow! lol This really spoke to me. I have been thr...I choose contentment thank you!!! I have been through both the resentment road and the contentment road. Each have the same circumstances but very different scenery. Resentment is a road of hopelessness and major instability of the mind and emotions. This can eventually lead to physical problems as well. Contentment is a road of hope and joy in the midst of hardships.

In Philippians 4:12 Paul says, "I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."

In the natural we may always have needs and issues to deal with, but in our spirit it is always well. We need to be careful to walk in this truth and not give in to the discomfort of being in need. It’s 4 stages that one must go through:
a. Simply poor, beggar
b. To have no influence, power, help, or prestige
c. Being oppressed by men
d. Having nothing

So, because one has nothing, he has to put his full reliance in God, and so by that, becoming poor in Spirit is becoming completely and utterly detached from the world, and completely attached to God

A very wise man once said "The Saint Must Walk Alone." When we learn to be content to walk alone with God wherever He takes us we find the power of Christ resting upon us. This was something in my early Christian years that I learned, to be content in whatever state you are in. You see we think that when the children of Israel left Egypt they left poor and feeble, and they could not take care of themselves. They left with the riches of Egypt.

Exodus 13:35-36- The Israelites did according to the word of Moses; and they [urgently] asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver and of gold, and clothing.

36- The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they asked. And they stripped the Egyptians [of those things].

Many times God cannot prosper us because we are not ready and I know one thing, that money is an amplifier, it will only magnify the problems. If you do not tithe when you have a little, you will not tithe when you have much. We say if we just win the lottery all my problems would be solved. But if you were to win the lottery it would destroy you. If you are dealing with your character flaws, you’re not ready for money.

Wealth can destroy you. It destroyed the children of Israel. Guess what they did with the silver and gold they took from Egypt, they built a golden calf to worship. Than on top of that the spies came back with a negative report. None of them were able to enter into the promise land accept, Caleb and Joshua. Why were they the only ones? Because they believed God at His word and they didn’t doubt the promises of God. What you say will affect what you do. The children of Israel did all the following:
1. A fool despises wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7).
2. A fool is right in his own eyes (Proverbs 12:15).
3. A fool makes a mockery of sin (Proverbs 14:9, Galatians 6:7, Romans 6:23).
4. A fool hides hatred with lying and utters slander (Proverbs 10:18).
5. A fool does mischief for sport (Proverbs 10:23).
6. A fool has a perverted mouth (Proverbs 19:1).
7. A fool trusts his own understanding (Proverbs 28:26).
8. A fool says whatever comes to mind (Proverbs 29:11).
9. A fool walks in darkness (Ecclesiastes 2:14).
10. A fool doesn't pay vows.
11. A fool is consumed by his lips (Ecclesiastes 10:12, Mark 11:23).
12. A fool says in his heart there is no God (Psalm 53:1, Psalm 14:1).
13. A fool is slow to believe (Luke 24:25).

Prosperity will either bless you or destroy you. Be patient and don’t be a fool in the waiting room or your desert.

I found this and thought it was funny. Something to brighten your day!

Jesus and Moses are sitting in a boat fishing and Jesus says to Moses "I want to do a miracle so we can feel like the good old days." and Moses says "Yeah sure." So Jesus gets up and says "I think I'll walk on the water that was always a good one." So Jesus walks over to the edge of the boat, steps into the water, and sinks like a stone. Moses drags Jesus back into the boat and revives him. Moses then says "What's the problem?" and Jesus says, "I think its the holes in my feet!"Ceci Torreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11470381570358020731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4798339239075786392.post-31117675505904488062009-03-04T11:44:00.000-07:002009-03-04T11:44:00.000-07:00Lord continue to teach me to be content in were I ...Lord continue to teach me to be content in were I am at everyday, and allow each new days contentment be more than before. It is quite contrary to our human nature. If we learn to take the focus off of ourselves and see the bigger picture. We will begin to see how truly blessed we are. Everyone has something to be grateful for.

When I was a kid, whenever we would take a new kid into the program the first thing we would do with them each morning was teach them how to pray. We would usually start with thanksgiving and almost every single one of them didn't know what to thank God for. My Dad would ask them. "Well do you have toenails"? I can't count how many teenagers I've seen in my life that thanked God for their toenails. LOL!

So there you have it! If you can't find anything to thank God for. Thank Him for your toenails, and if you don't have any I'm sure there is something you can thank Him for. You are blessed even if you have ONE thing to thank God for. If we continue to focus on God and not ourselves then we will always see our glass half FULL!

My mom always said, "Life handed me lemons so I made LEMONADE"!Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16481645965609300712noreply@blogger.com
